4 Reasons why you should not add essential oils to your mask

While it might initially seem like an excellent idea to add essential oils to your mask for a variety of reasons, here is why I advise against it.

While undoubtedly some of the most potent and multi-useful ingredients, I advise against using pure essential oils on your mask.

Essential oils are made up of very concentrated natural chemicals, making them very potent but potentially irritating to the skin and body. They can also be corrosive to the material they are put on.

Four main reasons not to apply undiluted essential oil on your face mask

  • Placing even one drop of pure essential oil on your mask can potentially degrade the material of your mask (especially if they are the disposable or medical grade), which means your mask is no longer as effective and possibly dangerous to yourself and others.

  • Description text goes hereThere is a high possibility the essential oil drops will come into contact with your skin, causing a reaction and possible damage to the skin cells where it touches.

  • With certain essential oils, the dose makes a difference in how you react to it, meaning that what you might think is a relaxing oil, in a larger quantity, actually becomes an exciting one; so when you feel you are applying something relaxing, you end up more wired!

  • The concentration of the scent will be initially pleasant; however, it will soon become quite overpowering and highly irritating and can cause you to feel nauseous and trigger headaches or migraines.

How are Yatlina Mask Drops different?

I created Mask Drops and formulated them to be safe for use on your mask; it is safely diluted and blended to include essential oils I researched to be fit for purpose (calming or energising) and layered with hydrosols that add depth to its aroma and also benefit from their gentle delivery system that is effective and non-irritating.
