Aromatherapy and the Spaces We Dwell In

The Best Kind Podcast, hosted by Sonya Randell, the creative force behind Best Kind Design, explores our complex relationship with the spaces we inhabit. It was a privilege to join her as the guest on the inaugural episode of this transformative podcast.

Best Kind

"Best kind" is a phrase from Newfoundland, Canada, used to describe something exceptional or extraordinary. It signifies the highest quality or the epitome of excellence in a particular context.

Sonya's approach to interior architecture and design goes beyond mere aesthetics; it's about crafting environments that nurture the soul. At Best Kind Design, Sonya and her team act as translators, listening attentively to client's needs and desires and transforming them into functional and stunning designs. Whether clients prioritize beauty and functionality or seek a holistic approach integrating wellbeing, Sonya meets them where they are on their journey.

Inspired by her upbringing in Newfoundland, Sonya deeply understands the profound impact of space on individuals. She believes that every space has the potential to affect us mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Sonya's passion lies in exploring these nuances, creating spaces that support authentic, balanced living.

I found Sonya's approach to her work truly inspiring. Her holistic design philosophy, which considers aesthetics and a space's emotional and spiritual aspects, resonated deeply with me.

During our chat for the podcast, we explored a myriad of topics related to scent and wellbeing, from the true definition of aromatherapy to the fascinating reasons why humans have a sense of smell. We also discussed our profound connection with nature and how it influences our emotions and physical wellbeing. When discussing bespoke services I offer clients for their home or work, many parallels emerged in how we approach our work and how a client's personal preferences and personality take centre stage while being guided by our experience to ensure the end result goes beyond what the client ever imagined.

With the Best Kind Podcast launch in March 2024, Sonya extends her exploration of space's influence on human experience. Through intimate conversations with experts, she aims to uncover the intricate relationship between environments and wellbeing.

I look forward to this podcast and future guests, where design meets psychology, biology, physics, metaphysics, and ancient wisdom. Sonya helps you reimagine your spaces and create environments that genuinely support your holistic wellbeing. I hope you enjoy listening to my contribution.
